The Power of Curiosity

Curiosity may have killed the cat but it let the human live a more fulfilling life!

Come to think of it I don't believe that anything awe-strikingly amazing comes forth without curiosity. I do, however believe in the power of purposeful living; accomplishing set tasks. But I have recently come to know that the power of curiosity is thoroughly underused. It can  impact us in several aspects of our lives.

  1. Health: In recent studies have shown that curious people live longer! Look it up if you don't believe me.
  2. Intelligence: Studies have shown that curiosity positively correlates with intelligence. Other studies have indicated that high levels of curiosity in adults are connected to greater analytic ability, problem-solving skills and overall intelligence. All of which suggests that cultivating more curiosity in your daily life is likely to make you smarter.
  3. Social Relationships: Curious people are highly enthusiastic and energetic which makes for healthy relationships.
  4. Happiness: Developing good relationships and growing as a person are the foundations for a happy life. Both of these factors are also supported by curiosity.
  5. Meaning: When we find a career path that naturally ignites our curiosity we know we are on the right path. The more curiosity you can muster for something, the more likely you are to notice and learn about it,and thus the more interesting and meaningful it will become for you overtime.

To tune into your curiosity: Build on your knowledge, thrive on uncertainty(try new things ), give up your ideas of the way things ought to be and allow them to unfold as they are without judgement, and lastly make dreary moments fun by re-connecting with your playful side.
