Stop Thinking! Just DO it already....

I have been contemplating writing a blog for some time now. I have thought about every detail rather meticulously and obsessively. This morning, I woke up and thought today is the day it ends....this part is rather important if not the most important.....we often get so engrossed in the reading, theorising and studying that we do not even accomplish the goals we have set. When we over-think and put off the things and we think we are only trying to protect ourselves from pain, thinking like this only allows you to become conflicted from within. The more times you say tomorrow, tomorrow I will get it done,'' the worse it festers in your cerebral hemisphere. This what makes a mere little thing a ginormous joker, a heinous little brute that is threatening to your existence.
So plan a little and then take some action. Don't blow it out of proportion. I find it quite sad really, with all the waste of talent and intellectual capacity that could be realised if we completed our tasks. Don't get me wrong planning for your success is essential but too many of us fall into the trap of believing that this is equivalent with concrete action. You want results...take action simple as that!
''You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.'' -Martin Luther King Jr.

Tips which will drive your success if you want to make tangible, positive changes in your life:

  1.  Do not talk, Do : Stop talking about your goals and do them. There is scientific evidence which suggests that when you talk about your goals it fools your brain into thinking that it is a completed task......Why would anyone take action on something they have have already achieved? Hint: Maybe keep your goals a secret.
  2. Be effective: When being effective one does not have to bother to be efficient. You just have to do the right things and forget about everything exceptionally well. In the process of taking action, it can be easy to get busy with anything,we get so caught up in doing things that are inconsequential...trust me it has happened to me before. Often, this rather aimless doing results in nothing meaningful. So stop it!
  3. Be committed: Make a commitment to yourself and have it in writing, define motivations and get a friends to act as a witness and support system, even  break down goals into more manageable blocks to make it seem easier and more doable.
  4.  Have a detailed plan: Without a sure plan you are planning on failure to knock on your door! So adhere to it!
  5. Set yourself strict deadlines: When planning your schedule, set impossibly short deadlines on your tasks , you'll create laser-like focus and get things done in record time.
  6. Use incentives: Reward yourself for tasks completed.
  7. Be good but not perfect: If you're writing an essay, article or a blog as in my case, aiming for perfection will mean you will never post it. Instead of this, make it as good as you can, perhaps give yourself a time limit and then be done with it once the time has elapsed. When you eliminate the need for perfection, you open the road of consistent and effect action and rid yourself of self-sabotage.
  8. Be more specific yet keep it simple: While being specific is obviously necessary, don't make it complicated. Make tasks as simple and straight forward as possible. N.B. If you think the task is hard you won't do it.
  9. Study less, act more. What is the fastest way to improve at something?  Go and do it. Take action. You will fail a couple of times, but you will learn from those ''mistakes''.
  10. Just do it already! Starting now! You can transform your life by using this simple law of physics: An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced forced. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. - Law of Inertia
Therefore keep using these tips and making the necessary actions and you will get to where you want! When in doubt remember to face your fear. '' Procrastination is the fear of success. People procrastinate because they are afraid of the success that will result if they move ahead now.
Because success is heavy, it carries a responsibility with it, it is much easier to procrastinate and live on the ''someday I''ll '' philosophy.''- Denis Waitley

Are you afriad of all the awesomeness you possess? Don't be...just let it out.
